Taking new students for ONLINE One-On-One and group classes (Interactive Online classes offered through ZOOM)
Intermediate Drawing and Painting| Ages 13 and up | Sundays 9am-11 pm | Min 4/ Max 6 |Call/e-mail to register
(Class offered ONLINE via ZOOM)
This is a beginner to intermediate level drawing and painting class. Students with an intermediate level drawing ability are ideal candidates for this class. Prior drawing experience preferred. Since many artists prefer to have a simple drawing in place when starting a painting, students must have basic drawing skills in place already.
Students will learn about many drawing mediums (graphite, charcoal, ink, conte crayon), watercolor, acrylic and oil pastel and variety of techniques to use them. As each medium is distinctly different in the way it is used, technique is extremely important, and that’s what we’ll be working on! In this class students will learn the concepts of color mixing, color theory, and brush techniques.
They will learn about different artists, culture and artistic tradition throughout the course.Students will also develop a critical vocabulary and will be guided to provide constructive critique of their peers’ projects as well as will develop a vocabulary to discuss about their own works. This class will provide the skill, encouragement and a positive environment to explore and develop their natural creativity. Even though we will have conversation session of our works, this is completely a non-competitive environment where everyone will learn from each others struggle and strength.
The overarching themes of this course :
Observational drawing to train your vision
Art history to explore possibilities
Discussion and critique sessions to talk about your own work as well as others’ work.
This is a year round class and will be working on landscape, still life, portraiture, figure drawing and many more concepts. Painting both from observation and from their imaginations, students will take home multiple drawings and paintings to make their portfolio or to hang on their wall!
